Seventeen's compilation album '17 is Right Here' goes double platinum in Japan

Boy band Seventeen’s album “17 is Right Here” was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), according to the band’s agency on Monday.

The RIAJ awards Gold Disc certifications based on the cumulative sales of each month; gold certifications for records that have sold over 100,000 copies, platinum certifications for over 250,000, double platinum for over 500,000 and so on.

Seventeen's compilation album "17 is Right Here" surpassed 500,000 cumulative sales as of May, according to the RIAJ on Monday. “17 is Right Here” is Seventeen's 20th Gold Disc certification from the RIAJ, with 11 of them certified double platinum or higher.

The album ranked No. 2 on Billboard Japan's mid-year wrap-up report of music chart from Nov. 27, 2023, to May 26 this year, on both the Hot Albums and Top Album Sales charts. It is the highest for any K-pop album in the wrap-up report.

Seventeen drew an audience of over 254,000 with its “Seventeen Tour 'Follow' Again to Japan” concerts held at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka on May 18 and 19, and Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa that took place on May 25 and 26.

Seventeen is set to attend the "2024 Weverse Con Festival" held at Inspire Entertainment Resort in Incheon on Sunday. The boy band is also slated to launch a new unit, consisting of members Jeonghan and Wonwoo, on June 17 with its first single “This Man.”
