CJ ENM announced the dates, locations and artist lineup for KCON LA 2024 on Friday.
KCON LA 2024 will be held from July 26 to 28 at Crypto.com Arena, the Los Angeles Convention Center and Gilbert Lindsay Plaza in Los Angeles.
KCON has been introducing K-pop artists into the United States market since 2012. KCON LA 2024 will showcase a variety of K-pop content under the theme of "Museum of Poppia.” "Poppia" is KCON's signature song that different K-pop artists cover each year.
KCON LA 2024 is set to create stages like festivals rather than concerts. There will be a "KCON Stage," rookie showcases and fan meet and greets.
Zico will return to KCON as a soloist after his last performance at the convention as part of boy band Block B at KCON LA 2016. Veteran boy band g.o.d will perform for the first time at KCON, bringing the whole group back to LA for the first time in 10 years.
Notable female solo artists are on the event's lineup. Singer-songwriter and actor Bibi, singer Jeon Somi, singer-songwriter and actor Jo Yuri, who is set to star in the second season of Netflix series "Squid Game," and singer Hyolyn are scheduled to perform.
Boy bands BoyNextDoor, TWS, ZeroBaseOne, INI, Enhypen, Drippin, DXMON, P1Harmony and more will also be present at KCON LA 2024. K-pop girl groups including Kep1er, NMIXX, Craxy and STAYC will participate in the festival as well.
Boy band SHINee member Taemin, virtual artist Apoki and singer-songwriter Isaac Hong are also in the lineup.
"Last year's KCON LA 2023 marked a turning point after the end of the pandemic, where we focused on expanding our reach by establishing partnerships with major local media for the first time," said Shin Hyung-kwan, Head of Music Content Business at CJ ENM, in a press release on Friday.
"As a globally representative K-pop festival, we will ensure thorough preparations not only for the global expansion of our artists, but also for fostering interaction and communication between fans and artists.”
KCON is a global K-pop festival hosted and organized by CJ ENM, which has taken place in the United States, Japan, Thailand, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong.
