Jazz pianist and vocalist Maria Kim is set to release her seventh full-length album “Misty Blue” on Friday, her agency PlusHitch said Thursday.
The album is comprised of 1960s-inspired hard bop jazz songs, including the prereleased singles “Tight” and “Peel Me a Grape.” American jazz trumpeter and vocalist Benny Bennack III is also featured on the album.
Kim is currently on a world tour, performing in cities like Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, as well as Ann Arbor, Montague and New York in the United States.
On Thursday at 5 p.m., she is set to perform at the Kwanglim Arts Center in southern Seoul to celebrate the album’s upcoming release. She will perform in Daegu on Saturday.
Kim debuted in 2015 with the album “Those Sentimental Things.” In 2022, her fifth album, “With Strings: Dream of You,” earned her the award for Best Jazz Vocal Album at the Korean Music Awards.
