NewJeans, Double Single 'How Sweet'

(MHNSports reporter Sun Shin) NewJeans' double single has entered the top ranks of major US Billboard charts.

On June 3rd, Billboard pre-released the rankings for some of the latest charts (dated June 8) based on data compiled from the 24th to the 30th of last month, via their website article and social media.

According to this, NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein)'s double single 'How Sweet' and the title track of the same name, 'How Sweet', ranked 7th on the 'Global (Excl. US)' chart.

Billboard, which disclosed these results, stated, "'How Sweet' recorded 42.8 million streams and over 5,000 downloads in a week," adding, "This is NewJeans' fifth song to enter the top 10 on the Global (Excl. US) chart."

The included track 'Bubble Gum' ranked 18th on the same chart. This song recorded 25 million streams and over 4,000 downloads. 'Bubble Gum' was first revealed through its music video on April 27, and even before its official release, it entered the 'Global (Excl. US)' chart at 166th place on May 11.

Unlike the 'Hot 100', which includes US radio broadcast scores, Billboard's global chart ranks the most popular songs based on streaming and sales data from over 200 regions worldwide.

NewJeans' 'How Sweet' and 'Bubble Gum', which are also performing well on major domestic music charts, ranked 2nd and 3rd on Melon, Bugs, and Flo.

Meanwhile, NewJeans will host an offline pop-up store from June 5th to 17th at Line Friends Square Sinsa to commemorate the release of 'How Sweet'.
