Italian court upholds Amanda Knox slander conviction

A Florence court on 05 June, upheld Amanda Knox's slander conviction for accusing former bar owner Patrick Lumumba for the 2007 murder of her flat-mate Meredith Kercher in Perugia. Knox has already served a three-year-term handed down by the court. Lumumba had nothing to do with the murder. Rudy Guede, an Ivorian, was convicted of the murder and sentenced to 16 years in prison. Knox was only 20 when she and her Italian then-boyfriend were arrested for the killing of 21-year-old fellow student Meredith Kercher at the girls' shared home in Perugia.
