EcoPro announced on Monday that it inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hyundai Glovis to expand technology and business systems for a rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) battery recycling sector.

The MOU aims to strengthen the recycling business value chain both in South+ Korea and internationally, enhance the operational framework, and automate recycling processes. The companies also plan to optimize the supply chain management system for used batteries.

Hyundai Glovis, a major logistics company in Korea, operates 52 logistics hubs in the country and 96 overseas. It transports about 3.44 million completed vehicles annually to global markets using 90 car carriers. Leveraging this extensive logistics network, Hyundai Glovis aims to gain a competitive edge in the global battery recycling industry. The company plans to set up collection points for used batteries, secure preprocessing technology, and continually enhance its logistics supply chain for EV batteries.

EcoPro CnG, an EcoPro Group company, specializes in both pre-processing and post-processing of used batteries. The collaboration is expected to bolster EcoPro’s logistics capabilities as it uses the Hyundai Glovis network. EcoPro CnG has been working on logistics automation and adopted Hyundai Glovis’s smart logistics solution system in April 2024, building the partnership even further.
