Mayor joins triathlon to prove Han River’s water quality

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon participated in an easier version of a triathlon competition held in Seoul over a two-day period to demonstrate the high quality of the water in the Han River. The mayor completed an advanced course consisting of 300 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of biking, and 10 kilometers of running on the first day, and joined citizens in swimming across the one-kilometer stretch from the south end to the north end of the barrage in Jamsil, another part of the advanced course, on the following day. Oh said that the competition was evidence that the water quality of the Han River was good enough for the river to be used as a competition arena.
