CRK selected as lead developer for eco-friendly refrigeration system

CRK Corp. announced on Thursday that it has been selected as the lead research and development institution for a state project to develop eco-friendly low-temperature cold chain refrigeration system technology in response to refrigerant regulations.

This project is part of the 2024 Core Technology Development for Energy Demand Management initiative, supported by the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy.

CRK was chosen as the principal R&D institution last month and finalized the agreement on May 27.

The project, with a total budget of 19 billion won ($13.8 million), is set to run until March 2028. CRK will collaborate with Kookmin University and Jeonbuk National University to develop low-carbon, high-efficiency cold chain refrigeration system technology using eco-friendly alternative refrigerants.
