SK shieldus Co. announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with Yokogawa Electric Korea to expand its security business in operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS).

Under the agreement, which was signed at Yokogawa Electric Korea’s head office in Seoul on Tuesday, the two companies will conduct joint research in various areas such as security diagnosis and consulting for manufacturing and production factories, system integration and construction, and operation and management services.

They also plan to enhance the competitiveness of OT and ICS security businesses by sharing expertise in the latest technologies and global trends, and collaborating on attracting new customers.

SK shieldus possesses specialized organizations in OT security consulting and system construction, while Yokogawa Electric Korea operates a cybersecurity center specialized in ICS.

In another development, SK telecom Co. announced on Wednesday that it has officially launched its AI-based animal diagnostic support service, X Caliber, in Australia and has commenced full-scale promotion.

X Caliber analyzes X-ray images of pets using AI to assist veterinarians in diagnosing animal diseases.

This is the first time X Caliber has been commercialized overseas. The service is immediately available in more than 100 veterinary clinics in Australia.

SK telecom had prepared for commercialization by partnering with ATX Medical Solutions, Australia’s largest medical device distribution company, in November last year, and providing beta services to local animal hospitals.

SK telecom has also signed a commercial contract for X Caliber with a veterinary hospital chain in Indonesia, the company said.
