GS25 opens its 300th store in Vietnam

GS Retail’s convenience store chain, GS25, announced on Sunday that it has opened its 300th store in Vietnam on May 23rd, 2024. The new milestone comes around six years after its initial entry into Vietnam in 2018, and the newly opened GS25 store, “GS25 Dien Bien Phu,” is located within a university district with a high floating population.

As it focuses on strengthening its operational expertise and multi-purpose infrastructure capabilities acquired in Vietnam, the Korean convenience store brand aims to expand its presence in the country to over 500 stores by 2025, positioning itself as the leading convenience store chain in the Vietnamese market.

The company also aims to open 500 stores in Mongolia by 2025 and aims to establish itself as a global franchise brand by opening 1,000 global stores by 2025 and 1,500 by 2027.

Since entering the Vietnamese market, GS25 has differentiated itself by blending the local food culture with the popularity of Korean culture and K-food trends to offer unique products and services that are tailored to local preferences. Its convenient locations, pleasant shopping environment, and friendly service have contributed to its rapid popularity and success in Vietnam.

Starting in 2021, GS25 became the only brand convenience store in Vietnam to expand its franchise to local civilians. The company has expanded its franchise deployment by adding three types of franchise models since September 2023, resulting in an increase in the number of GS25’s Vietnam franchise stores to 35.
