The HD Hyundai 1% Nanum Foundation, a charity under HD Hyundai, said Monday it is seeking candidates for the second HD Hyundai Honor Awards to promote a positive influence across the country.
The foundation has awarded HD Hyundai Honor Awards since last year to support citizens who help others in isolated and socially vulnerable groups, spreading a positive influence across the country.
The second HD Hyundai Honor Awards will dole out a total of 300 million won ($218,544) in prize money across four categories: the Grand Prize, Best Organization Award, Best Individual Award and 1% Nanum Award.
The HD Hyundai 1% Nanum Foundation will accept candidate nominations through its website for two consecutive months until July 12.
The foundation plans to announce the winners in November, and the awards ceremony is scheduled for December.
"We aim to widely promote the contributions of civic heroes who dedicate themselves to creating a warmer society,” said an official from the HD Hyundai 1% Nanum Foundation.
Last year, a person who goes by the nickname of "faceless angel," from Jeonju, received both the Grand Prize and the 1% Nanum Award last year for anonymously donating 880 million won over 23 years to help underprivileged and isolated groups.
