Hyundai Motor Co. announced on Friday that eN1 Class, an electric car race, will take place for the first time at the 2024 Hyundai N Festival Round 2, scheduled to be held at the Everland Speedway in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on May 11 and 12.

The eN1 Class will feature the participation of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N-based electric race car, named the Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup Car, which is the first electric race car in South Korea.

The Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup Car is characterized by its exclusive race parts that ensure faster cornering speed and stability.

Equipped with the N Active Sound Plus, capable of producing virtual engine sounds, and the N e-Shift feature, which simulates engine braking sensations and engine operation during idle, the Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup Car is set to deliver an immersive racing experience.

Six Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup Cars will compete in the tournament-style rounds, with notable participants including car racer Park Jun-ui, winner of the TCR Italy Round 1 this year, and Kim Gyu-min, who competes in the Nürburgring 24 Hours Endurance Race.

In addition to showcasing the N Vision 74 and WRC Rally Car exhibitions, Hyundai Motor will host various events such as circuit taxi rides and racing simulators at the festival.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai N Festival, the largest single-make race event in Korea, will span a total of 11 rounds until October.
