Ukraine dismantles Soviet-era monument in Kyiv

The 'Pereiaslav Rada', or Pereyaslav Agreement, was a meeting held in the central Ukrainian town of Pereiaslav in January 1654 for a ceremonial pledge of allegiance by the Cossacks to the Tsar of Russia.
