It’s the end of a couple’s coffee dynasty. Actors Won Bin and Lee Na-young, the long-time faces of coffee brand Maxim, will not return as its ambassadors, according to industry sources.
Won’s contract with Maxim’s T.O.P coffee expired in January, according to reports on Friday. The brand’s company, Dongsuh Foods Corporation, confirmed the news with media outlets, while the two actors’ agency eden9 reportedly said it was still "confirming the matter.”
Lee’s contract with Maxim’s Mocha Gold Mild instant coffee mix also ended, with the news of expiration reported Thursday. Lee has been the face of Mocha Gold Mild for 24 years.
Actor Park Bo-young, known for her lead roles in the JTBC drama series “Strong Girl Bong-soon” (2017) and Netflix’s “Daily Dose of Sunshine” (2023), will replace her. Park’s first advertisement was filmed last month, according to local reports.
Won has featured in T.O.P’s advertisements for 16 years since 2008. He popularized the slogan “You’re just coffee; this person is T.O.P” in a 2010 advertisement that featured a love triangle between him and two other women.
Lee debuted in 1999 with a lead role in the Japanese film “Eiji" and Won in 1997 in the KBS2 drama series “Propose.” The two actors married in May 2015.
