"Today is the 10th anniversary of the Sewol ferry tragedy," wrote Solbi. "The memory of that day remains as a deep scar and trauma within me. I prayed this morning that they all smile in heaven. I painted this yellow flower garden wishing the best to those who were sacrificed, their remaining families and everyone living with the scars."

Singers Doyoung of boy band NCT, Keonhee of boy band Oneus, actor Park Bo-young and more celebrities shared the yellow ribbon on their social media accounts, joining in the nationwide commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the 2014 Sewol ferry tragedy on Monday.
The two K-pop singers changed the profile text of their official social media accounts by adding emojis of yellow ribbons on Monday. Yellow ribbons are used to remember those that died in the incident and have become the symbol for commemorating the ferry tragedy.
Actor Park also uploaded a picture on her Instagram account with a yellow ribbon and the caption, "Remember 0416."
April 16, 2014, was the day that the Sewol ferry capsized off the coast of Jindo, South Jeolla, while en route to Jeju Island, killing 304 passengers and crew members. Of those who died on the ferry, 250 were students from Danwon High School in Ansan, Gyeonggi.
Singer and painter Solbi commemorated the day with a special painting of a yellow flower garden that she created herself.
"Today is the 10th anniversary of the Sewol ferry tragedy," wrote Solbi. "The memory of that day remains as a deep scar and trauma within me. I prayed this morning that they all smile in heaven. I painted this yellow flower garden wishing the best to those who were sacrificed, their remaining families and everyone living with the scars."
Singer Lee Seung-hwan and actor Moon Jeong-hee also commemorated the day by uploading pictures on their Instagram accounts.
Lee uploaded a picture with the hashtags, "Sewol ferry tragedy 10th anniversary" and "memories are strong."
Moon uploaded an Instagram story reading, "Sewol ferry tragedy 10th anniversary. I still feel heavy inside, but 10 years have passed already. It just seems like it was only time that has passed."
A string of remembrance events were held throughout the country on Monday, along with local governments unveiling measures and events commemorating the disaster while emphasizing the importance of safety.
Thousands of people commemorating the victims of the Sewol ferry tragedy gathered in downtown Seoul over the weekend.
