Web cartoonists writing for Naver Webtoon can now take more breaks mid-series.
According to local reports Wednesday, Naver Webtoon recently revised its regulations to allow each of its artists to take breaks by delaying one episode for every 25 published.
Previous regulations allowed artists to take a break once every year, regardless of the number of webtoon episodes they publish. Webtoon artists on Naver commonly write once or twice a week for series that continue well over a year. Under Naver's new policy, webtoon artists can now have up to four breaks.
Webtoonists have consistently requested more breaks as many say they are overworked.
Kakao Entertainment, which also operates a webtoon platform, revised its regulations last year to allow two in-between breaks for every 40 episodes written.
