Doosan Robotics to provide collaborative robot solution to Mega Coffee

Doosan Robotics Inc. will introduce its collaborative robot solution for coffee production to Mega MGC Coffee, a local franchise coffee chain.

The collaborative robot barista solution, which was developed in partnership with the coffee chain, will be tested at the Star City shopping mall near Konkuk University subway station in eastern Seoul.

This robotic solution streamlines employee movements by utilizing existing coffee production areas within Mega MGC Coffee stores.

It is designed to extract espresso in a seamless motion by interfacing with grinders and semi-automatic coffee machines, and is capable of preparing for the next extraction while the current one is in progress, matching human speed in coffee production.

According to the company, further trials for franchisees are planned for the first half of this year, along with educational sessions for franchise owners to share operational results and benefits of the solution.
