Hanwha Group chief encourages employees responsible for robotics business

Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-youn on Friday met with employees in charge of the conglomerate’s robotics business, expanding on-site management after his first public appearance in five years in March.

According to Hanwha Group on Sunday, Kim visited the Hanwha Robotics building in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, and met with employees and inspected development sites for robot technology.

He was accompanied by his third son Kim Dong-sun, vice president of Hanwha Robotics. It marks the chief’s second public appearance this year.

In March, Kim visited a research and development (R&D) campus of Hanwha Aerospace Co. in Daejeon with his eldest son, Kim Dong-kwan, vice chairman of Hanwha Group.

During his visit on Friday, Kim discussed the current technological landscape and the robotics industry‘s future prospects with researchers. He expressed optimism about robots’ potential to generate synergies across various sectors, including defense, shipbuilding, and retail.
