Built for Mussolini, who in the estate along the Via Nomentana took up residence in 1929, they ended up being used instead by Roman citizens to protect themselves from bombing. Long not open to visitors, they reopen after two years with a new layout that is a journey underground of the villa, but also through the days of the war, when Rome was devastated by a rain of bombs.
