HD Hyundai held an event commemorating the 23rd anniversary of the passing of Hyundai Group founder Chung Ju-yung, reflecting on his life and legacy.
The event, held at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center (GRC) in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, featured the unveiling of a statue of the founder and a tribute to honor his memory.
Key figures at the event included HD Hyundai Chairman Kwon Oh-gap and Vice Chairman Chung Ki-sun, alongside representatives from various affiliated companies.
"We held the unveiling ceremony of the founder's statue at the cradle of technological development, the GRC," Kwon said. "I will strive to continue the founder's legacy and make HD Hyundai regarded as a respected company."
"Following in the footsteps of our founder, who never gave up and always embraced challenges, HD Hyundai continues to forge a path of new endeavors," Chung said. "We are committed to shaping a better future for humanity, surpassing our status as the world's leading shipbuilding company."
Similar commemorative events took place in Ulsan and Yeongam on the same day.
Key executives from HD Hyundai visit the founder's grave in Hanam, Gyeonggi, annually, with this year's visit taking place last Saturday.
