Five fishermen were rescued and one remains missing after a fishing vessel capsized in waters off Korea’s southeastern coast on Sunday.

A 9.77-ton fishing boat with six crew members on board overturned approximately 120 kilometers (74 miles) east of Guryongpo in Pohang, North Gyeongsang, at around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, the Korea Coast Guard said.

The rescuers found two of the crew holding the screw at the rear of the boat and two stranded inside the air pocket.

The other was saved by a nearby fishing vessel.

The Coast Guard mobilized eight patrol ships and three aircraft to find the missing mariner, identified as an Indonesian in his 20s.

The authorities said that four survivors were in stable condition. The other, the first rescued, was sent to a hospital because of his critical condition.
