Boy band Seventeen will go down in K-pop history as the first Korean act to play at the Glastonbury Festival.
Seventeen will grace the Pyramid Stage, the festival’s main stage, at this year’s Glastonbury, held from June 26 to 30 at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England.
Glastonbury’s organizers released the first lineup of acts for the five-day festival on Thursday. Also performing on the Pyramid Stage are heavyweights including Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA, Shania Twain and Burna Boy.
The Glastonbury Festival is a festival of contemporary performing arts held in most summers in England. It one of the world’s biggest music festivals and is widely considered a rite of passage for performing artists.
Regular tickets for this year’s festival are sold out, according to its organizers.
Seventeen debuted in 2015 under now-HYBE label Pledis Entertainment. The band is known for hit songs such as "Very Nice," "Clap," "Super" and “God of Music” (2023). It most recently released its 11th EP “Seventeenth Heaven” in October 2023.
The band is set to hold encore concerts of its "Follow" world tour in a new series titled "'Follow' Again," twice in Incheon on March 30 and 31, Osaka on May 18 and 19 and Kanagawa on May 25 and 26.
The band will also headline the Lollapalooza Berlin music festival in September.
