Korea University will create a college for undecided major students starting in the 2025 academic year.

The college will have an annual admission quota of around 300, although details aren't finalized yet, according to the university.

Although Korea University's School of Interdisciplinary Studies offers a similar curriculum, the university will be creating another undecided major program.

The School of Interdisciplinary Studies admits students as undecided majors, allowing them to choose their major in their sophomore year. The program has an annual admissions quota of 95.

Students can choose from 32 majors available at Korea University, but they are required to take courses under the Leadership in Public Governance program before graduation. The program teaches students about law, public policy and economics. International students can also take the courses, although they are not required to do so.

Many universities are also creating undecided major programs with a big admissions quota to get government funding.

The Ministry of Education announced it will be offering funding of 441 billion won ($336 million) to private universities and 342.6 billion won to national universities that innovate and offer more learning opportunities to students. Creating an undecided major program isn't the only evaluation criterion, but is a way to get additional points.

Seoul National University will promote its College of Liberal Studies, an academic department that admits undecided major students, into a college in the 2025 academic year. Following the change, the admission quota will be increased from the current 123 to 400.

Hanyang University will create the HY Inter-college, accepting undecided majors also starting the 2025 academic year. The college will have an admission quota of around 300.
