BTSJungkook’s “Standing Next to You” stayed on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for 18 consecutive weeks, the singer’s agency, BigHit Music, said Wednesday.
It is the second song by a Korean artist to achieve such a record. Singer Psy’s 2012 hit song “Gangnam Style” was the first to do so, remaining on the chart for a total of 31 weeks consecutive weeks.
“Standing Next to You,” the lead track of Jungkook’s first solo album “Golden,” first landed No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart upon its release, on the chart for the week of Nov. 18.
The song landed No. 85 for the week of March 16, two steps higher than last week.
Jungkook’s “Seven (feat. Latto)” (2023) stayed on the chart for 15 weeks in a row while Charlie Puth’s “Left and Right,” featuring Jungkook, remained on the chart for 17 consecutive weeks.
The album “Golden” also became the longest-charting album on Billboard 200 by a Korean solo artist, also staying on the chart for 18 consecutive weeks. The album landed No. 90 for the week of March 16.
