Shinsegae Duty Free is holding a post-modern ceramic art exhibition at its outlet in Myeongdong, central Seoul, as it hopes to offer consumers the opportunity to experience various forms of art.

According to the duty-free store operator, it will hold an art exhibition titled “Icon-Potterait” on the 11th floor of Shinsegae Duty Free store, featuring pottery works by ceramicist and photographer Yoon Young-su.

Yoon specializes in using clay to create contemporary items such as beer cans, coke bottles and lollipops, and decorating them by carving luxury brand logos.

The works on display will focus on breaking down the boundaries between tradition and modernity, commerce and art, with an emphasis on postmodern ceramic pieces incorporating luxury brand insignia.

“We try to provide a diverse range of art encounters that go beyond retail transactions and allow visitors to engage with various arts without being constrained by conventions,” the company said.

The exhibition will be held until May 31.
