Thai authorities issue warning to residents due to heat wave

Thai authorities issued an 'extreme heat' warning to residents, advising to stay indoors after the temperature rose between 33 to 40 degrees Celsius (91.4 to 104 Fahrenheit) in Bangkok and in some areas of the country, temperatures reached to 51.4 degrees Celsius (124.52 Fahrenheit) in Chonburi province, followed by Phuket at 48.3 degrees Celsius (118.94 Fahrenheit), while the heat index or feel like temperature peaked over up 54 degrees Celsius (129.2 Fahrenheit) which is at a dangerous level with an extreme high risk of heat stroke in Bangkok and several provinces, according to the Meteorological Department.
