Gmarket opens new Cold Center for next-day delivery

Gmarket announced on Monday that it will provide next-day delivery for open-market sellers of frozen and chilled products via its newly opened ‘Smile Cold Center’ in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.

Gmarket’s Smile Delivery service, initiated in 2014, uses the Dongtan Logistics Center to handle the entire logistics process for open-market sellers from product intake to inventory management, packaging, and delivery.

Previously, sellers requiring cold storage for Smile Delivery products had to manage their logistics independently using separate facilities. But now, with Gmarket partnering with the cold chain platform Team Fresh, the Smile Cold Center facilitates the easy shipping of frozen and chilled products for even small-scale sellers.

Products stocked at the Smile Cold Center, like regular Smile Delivery items, will be delivered the next day if orders are placed before 6 p.m. on weekdays.

Gmarket began by incorporating frozen products into the Smile Cold Center, with plans to expand to chilled items in the latter half of 2024.

To celebrate the opening of the cold center, Gmarket is offering a 10 percent discount on shipping fees, packaging materials, and handling costs for each shipment until the end of March.
