Singer IU's agency EDAM Entertainment has excommunicated members from the artist's fan club as K-pop fights an ongoing battle with illegal ticket resellers.
The agency said Thursday that it found and canceled 44 tickets to the singer's upcoming concert "2024 IU H.E.R. World Tour Concert in Seoul" set to take place on March 2, 3, 9 and 10.
Five of the tickets were bought by members of IU's fan club, Uaena, who were expelled from the community and stripped of their membership status, EDAM Entertainment said. Twenty-nine general buyers, not members of the club, were restricted from joining in the future and would also be banned from buying IU concert tickets going forward.
The agency also canceled 41 tickets found to be illegally traded on Feb. 23.
The "2024 IU H.E.R. World Tour Concert in Seoul" is the singer’s first tour in five years since her last tour concert “Love, Poem” in 2019.
The tour will begin in Seoul and travel to 17 cities around the world, including Japan's Yokohama and Taiwan's Taipei as well as Singapore and London.
