Samsung Electronics unveils new, improved Galaxy Fit 3

Samsung Electronics Co. announced the Galaxy Fit 3 on Thursday, the first fitness tracking band in the series to support fall detection and other emergency features. It features a 45 percent bigger screen in which more information can be viewed simultaneously.

The Galaxy Fit 3 comes in Gray, Pink Gold, and Silver colors. It will be available in Europe, Asia, and Central America from Friday onwards. It features an aluminum body that is dust and water resistant, while its silicone band has a one-click detaching mechanism, making it easier to swap wristbands.

The new device also has more health-tracking features compared with its previous models. In addition to features designed to help users track their sleep, workouts, and stress levels, it has emergency features such as fall detection and emergency messages. If the watch detects that its user has been immobile for around a minute, the device will make an emergency call automatically. Users can push a side button five times to send SOS messages to their emergency contacts in an emergency.

Users can use Galaxy Fit 3 as a remote shutter for their smartphone‘s camera or control media playback on a paired phone.

“The Galaxy Fit 3 will be launched online in South Korea, but the price is yet to be determined,” according to a Samsung Electronics official.
