Boy band NCT Dream will kick off its third world tour in May with three concerts in Seoul, the band’s agency SM Entertainment said on Tuesday.
The tour, titled “The Dream Show 3,” is the band’s first time on the road since it held its second tour “The Dream Show 2: In A Dream” from 2022 to 2023 in support of the band’s second full-length album “Glitch Mode” (2022).
NCT Dream will start the Asian leg of the tour with concerts in Seoul from May 2 to May 4 before moving onto Osaka, Jakarta and Tokyo over the remainder of the month; Nagoya, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore in June; and Manila in August.
This will be the band’s first time headlining a dome venue tour in Japan, which is widely considered a landmark achievement for K-pop idols. The members are slated to perform at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome, Nagoya’s Vantelin Dome and the Tokyo Dome. The South American leg will take place in August and September, at North American cities in September and finally in Europe over October and November. Specific dates for these continents were not revealed on Tuesday.
NCT Dream, the third subunit of boy band NCT, was formed in 2016 and started activities with debut digital single “Chewing Gum.” The band consists of seven members: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung.
The band has since released its first full-length album “Hot Sauce” (2021), second full-length album “Glitch Mode” (2022), four EPs and its third full-length album “ISTJ” (2023). It will drop its fifth EP in March.
The band on Sunday won the award for Best Artist at the 2023 Hanteo Music Awards, one of the four grand prizes handed out in the awards ceremony. It received the Grand Prize at this year’s Seoul Music Awards for the second year in a row and the Record of the Year award at the Melon Music Awards 2023.
