CU, a leading convenience store chain in South Korea, has implemented a system that prints the name of the person in charge of products on instant food packages, making it the first in the industry to do so.

While consumers can directly confirm the real name of the person in charge of production on the back or bottom of general processed foods like ramyeon and snacks, this information was not provided on convenience store instant food packages.

CU said that the real-name system, which is being initially applied to lunch boxes, will be implemented on all instant food items, including kimbap, rice balls, hamburgers, and sandwiches in the first half of this year.

The responsible persons whose names will be disclosed on the packaging of instant food items are key personnel from nine manufacturers, including production supervisors, quality managers, and shipping coordinators, who are regular employees of the respective companies.
