Members of the French Resistance against the Nazis to be inducted into France's Pantheon

Celestino Alfonso was a member of the 'Manouchian' communist group, a foreign resistance group, named after its leader Missak Manouchian, that fought against the Nazi occupation of France during World War II. On 21 February 2024, Franco-Armenian leader Missak Manouchian, who was shot by the Nazis in 1944, will become the first foreign fighter to enter the French Pantheon mausoleum of revered historical figures.
