Broadcaster KBS is in talks with Lee Young-ae about the actor's potentially hosting a new talk show, KBS announced Monday.
“We are currently in talks with Lee and are considering her as a host for a show, but nothing is yet confirmed,” a spokesperson for KBS told the Korea JoongAng Daily.
Some rumors have indicated that a follow-up replacement to late-night music show "Lee Hyo-ri's Red Carpet" might feature Lee Young-ae, but KBS denied those rumors.
“’Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet’ is set to continue for some time, and news that the new talk show will replace it is untrue,” said the spokesperson from KBS.
The new show, if confirmed, would be Lee Young-ae's first appearance as an emcee since her debut in 1990.
Lee is a 51-year-old veteran actor who kicked off her career with the KBS drama series “How's Your Husband?” in 1993. Her prominent work includes films “Last Present” (2001), “Lady Vengeance” (2005) and “Bring Me Home” (2019), as well as dramas “Saimdang, Memoir of Colors” (2017) and “Maestra” (2023).
