Rookie boy band Ampers&One has been named the ambassador for the Korea Youth Association (KOYA), its agency FNC Entertainment said Thursday.
KOYA was established in 1981 as an organization to support the growth and development of the youth and to foster healthy future talents.
The band will participate in various youth activities and campaigns, alongside the organization’s social contribution project “Hope Apple Tree.”
It is also set to perform as a guest for the International Youth Campfest held at Hongseong, South Chungcheong, on July 31.
Many Korean stars, such as boy bands The Boyz and SHINee, girl group Sistar and football player Suwon FC’s Lee Seung-woo, were previously named as ambassadors for the organization.
“We selected international boy band Ampers&One as our organization’s ambassador because of its passion and its pursuit to achieve its dream, which resembles the youth around the world,” KOYA said in a press release.
Ampers&One debuted last November with “On And On.” The band has seven members: Jiho, Kamden, Maciah, Brian, Kyrell, Seungmo and Siyun.
Half of its members appeared on audition TV shows: Kamden and Jiho participated MBC’s audition program “The Wild Idol” (2021) and Mnet’s boy band audition program “Boys Planet” (2023). Brian also joined the audition program “Boys Planet,” and Siyun appeared on YG Entertainment’s boy band audition show “YG Treasure Box” (2018), aired on JTBC2.
