Actor Kim Tae-hee and “Squid Game” (2021) star Park Hae-soo will make their Hollywood debuts through the new Amazon Prime Video original show “Butterfly.”
“Butterfly” is an action series starring Korean American actor Daniel Dae Kim. Kim plays David Jung, a former U.S. intelligence operative living in Korea. Reina Hardesty stars alongside Kim as a sociopathic young agent named Rebecca who chases David down.
The series is based on a graphic novel of the same name created by Arash Amel and will include six episodes. The release date has yet to be announced.
Kim Tae-hee’s role in “Butterfly” has not been specified, but she is “set to act fluently in English” according to her agency, Story J Company.
Park, who starred in the megahit Netflix original “Squid Game,” will also star in “Butterfly” in an undisclosed role, according to the American outlet Variety.
Kim debuted as a model in 2000 and is also known for roles in dramas including “Stairway to Heaven” (2003), “Love Story in Harvard” (2004), “Iris” (2009), “My Princess” (2011) and “Hi Bye, Mama!” (2020).
Park, who was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Emmy award for his role as Sang-woo in “Squid Game,” is also known for “Prison Playbook” (2017-2018), “Time to Hunt” (2020) and “Narco-Saints” (2022).
