South Korea will co-host the 10th edition of the World Summit on Arts and Culture next year, bringing together more than 400 experts and artists from across the world to discuss cultural issues and seek cultural cooperation among countries.
The summit is organized by the International Federation of Arts Council and Culture Agencies which holds world summits around the world to debate complex issues of the time with cultural leaders. South Korea was chosen unanimously by the 13 delegates in October last year to host the summit in 2025, according to the Arts Council Korea.
“Hosting the World Summit on Arts and Culture in 2025 will be very meaningful for us as the Art Council Korea marks its 50th anniversary that year. We will put full efforts into preparing for the summit event next year so we can share insight into the knowledge and experiences in cultural aspects with the global leaders,” said Arts Council Korea Chair Choung Byoung-gug.
The 10th World Summit on Arts and Culture in May next year will take the theme of “Polycrisis” and explore how global leaders in the cultural field can solidify and collaborate better to find solutions, according to the Arts Council Korea.
Generally convened every three years, the World Summit on Arts and Culture is the flagship event of the International Federation of Arts Council and Culture Agencies as a global platform for fostering exchange between stakeholders in the international cultural field.
