CJ OliveNetworks develops engineering big data platform

CJ OliveNetworks Co. has developed an engineering big data platform for the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH)’s national engineering center.

The company said on Tuesday that its engineering big data platform, developed in partnership with Timesoft Co. and Allforland Co., facilitates diverse engineering tasks from order announcement searches and preliminary design reviews to price calculation and detailed engineering design, by leveraging over 500 million data points.

With the platform, CJ OliveNetworks has integrated an engineering big data platform and portal services, engineering data center infrastructure and facilities, and artificial intelligence-driven, big data-based engineering design support.

The company also opened an engineering data research center within KITECH’s convergence technology research center for big data analysis, AI research, and engineering software cloud services.

The engineering data research center is equipped with infrastructure including servers and networks, as well as emergency generators and uninterrupted power supplies. The AI analysis support platform, built with 48 Nvidia Corp.’s A100 graphics processing units, a first in the industry, at the research center, enables high-performance computing tasks including AI-driven programs for the engineering industry.
