Three more of Seventeen's songs have been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) as they surpassed 50 million streams, the boy band’s agency Pledis Entertainment said Tuesday.
“HOT” (2022), the lead track of its fourth full-length album, “Darl+ing” (2022), a B-side track, and “Clap” (2017), the lead track of its second full-length album all surpassed 50 million streams as of December last year, according to the RIAJ.
The RIAJ provides certifications for music based on the number of total streams — silver for 30 million streams, gold for 50 million streams, platinum for 100 million streams and diamond for 500 million streams.
The band has a total of 10 gold streaming certifications by the association as of Tuesday.
The band previously earned gold certifications for songs “Very Nice” (2016), “Pretty U” (2016), “Don’t Wanna Cry” (2017), “HIT” (2019), “Left & Right” (2020), “Rock with you” (2021) and “Super” (2023).
Seventeen debuted in 2015 under Pledis Entertainment, one of HYBE's labels. It has 13 members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The 8, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino. The band is known for hit songs such as "Very Nice," "Clap," "Super" and “God of Music” (2023).
The band is set to kick off its encore tour in Korea in March, followed by concerts in Japan, as an extension of Seventeen's world tour “Follow.”
