A vehicle crashed into a guard post in front of the Russian ambassador’s residence on Sunday night, severely injuring a police officer on duty.
According to fire and rescue authorities on Monday, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) smashed into the guardpost before the residence in Jongno District, central Seoul, around 10:10 p.m. on Sunday.
The police officer was hospitalized after suffering severe neck and shoulder injuries.
The driver was reportedly sober at the time of the accident.
