“Marigold Mind Photo Studio”
By Yun Jung-eun
Book Romance
The "Marigold" series is back with a sequel.
In her latest work, author Yun Jung-eun writes, "Life is filled with sadness, yet living is also about finding joy amid the sorrow," as she opens the door to a new story set in the magical village of "Marigold."
The enchanting days in Marigold Village continue, with a notable addition: a new photo studio on the first floor of the laundry building. At the photo studio, visitors can read their own minds or catch a glimpse of their future through the photos.
Visitors are drawn to the studio, carrying burdens and wounds they cannot share with others.
A couple on the brink of financial ruin due to a friend's betrayal, a woman living in the oppressive shadow of her mother and a working mom, who sacrificed her life for her family and now feels she's become useless.
What prompts them to seek solace in the studio? And what moments will be captured through the camera lens?
The first installment in the series, "Marigold Mind Laundry," which hit the shelves in March last year, sold more than 300,000 copies and held its place on bestsellers lists.
Penguin Random House has secured international rights for "Marigold Mind Laundry" in the UK for 100,000 pounds (169,682,920 won) and in the US for $150,000 (200,047,710 won).
Yun has also inked licensing agreements with publishers in 15 countries, including Italy, Portugal, Poland, Japan and China.
