During the winter high season, Incheon International Airport is rolling out promotions for visitors arriving at the airport via public transport, including complimentary airport limousine rides for children.
According to the airport Wednesday, it is partnering with TMAP Mobility, a mobility platform that provides navigation services, to offer free limousine rides to a maximum of three children 18 years old or younger, accompanying an adult who has bought the limousine ticket in advance. The deal enables families with children to use the limousine service at a cheaper price.
The ticket price is 17,000 won ($12.7) for children between ages six and 18, and 11,000 won for children under six.
It is mandatory to make a reservation through the TMAP airport bus app or the website to get the promotion’s benefits. The promotion covers six operating lines registered by the Seoul Airport Limousine, limited to Gangnam District and Jamsil-dong in southern Seoul and Gangdong District in eastern Seoul.
Starting Feb. 1 and running until Mar. 3, 1,500 late-night bus passengers will get a free in-flight meal coupon they can use on Jeju Airlines. The coupon is worth 5,000 won and is available for use on connecting night flights from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. It can be replaced by cup noodles or snacks depending on the flight.
Airport Limousine, Korea Airport Limousine, Gyeonggi Airport Limousine, KD Transportation Group, Sunjin Express and Kyeongnam Bus are the partnering groups that offer the promotion, operating at night to Incheon International Airport Terminal 1.
For six days during the peak winter travel season, starting Jan. 27 and ending on Feb. 10, the express trains will start operating 40 minutes earlier than the usual time. The airport railroad express train directly connects the two terminals — often abbreviated into T1 and T2 — of the airport and Seoul Station. For the two weekends from Jan. 27 and two days of the Lunar New Year holiday — Feb. 9 and Feb. 10 — express trains departing from the Incheon Airport and the Seoul Station will be on a trial run, starting its first operation of the day at 4:40 a.m.
"We aim to increase the public transportation utility rate through the Incheon International Airport bus promotion and late-night train trial run. In the long run, we also plan to boost the overall convenience of using public transportation by actively expanding its services," said Lee Hak-jae, the CEO of Incheon International Airport.
