Moonbyul of girl group Mamamoo will drop her first full-length solo album “Starlit of Muse” on Feb. 20, her agency RBW said Tuesday.
The album will be the singer’s first full-length album as a solo artist, nine years and eight months after her debut as a member of Mamamoo in 2014.
The title of the album “Starlit of Muse” is supposed to mean Moonbyul, the muse, completing the starlit work, according to her agency.
While other information about the album was not disclosed as of Tuesday, a short motion clip hinting at the overall mood of the new album was released on Tuesday on Mamamoo's social media accounts. The clip shows objects representing the nine Muses, who govern music and art in Greco-Roman mythology.
Moonbyul mainly sings the rap parts in Mamamoo's songs. The group has seen steady success with hit songs like "Um Oh Ah Yeh" (2015), "You're the best" (2016), "Décalcomanie" (2016), "Yes I am" (2017), "Starry Night" (2018), "Egotistic" (2018) and "Gogobebe" (2019).
Moonbyul started her career as a solo singer in 2018, releasing songs like “Selfish” (2018), “Eclipse” (2020), “Absence” (2020), “Lunatic” (2022) and “Present” (2022).
