Blackpink's Jennie took the crown for this week's Favorite Weekly Chart, making her the first female artist to top the chart this year.
Favorite is a K-pop fan voting service developed by Bugs and the JoongAng Ilbo, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.
The weekly chart's rankings are calculated by a combination of fan votes and an artist's number of streams on the music streaming service Bugs.
Jennie took the victory on the third week of January with a score of 32.3 percent, accounting for a total of 1,789 and 1.3 percent of Bugs streaming data.
The second and third place positions were also taken by K-pop girl groups, with IVE landing in second place with a score of 24.9 percent, with 1,201 votes and 4.1 percent of streams, followed by NewJeans, who scored 536 votes with 2.9 percent of streaming.
Favorite Weekly Chart's first and second winner of 2024 was virtual boy band Plave and trot singer Lim Young-woong.
A Celebratory video of Jennie will play at the Parnas Media Tower from Saturday to next Friday. The Parnas Media Tower is located near COEX mall in Gangnam District, southern Seoul.
