Starbucks achieved a new milestone as it topped one million sales of its first promotion beverages for the New Year, and five days earlier than the previous record as well.

The coffee giant introduced the “Blue Dragon” beverages as part of its New Year promotion on January 1st, 2024, featuring two variants – Blue Dragon Hazelnut Latte and Blue Dragon Classic Milk Tea. Starbucks said on Tuesday that, within just ten days since their debut, the beverages have collectively sold over a million cups, marking a significant achievement.

These offerings were revamped versions of popular drinks, Hazelnut Latte and Classic Milk Tea, to commemorate the Year of the Blue Dragon. The distinguishing feature of these limited-time beverages is the vibrant blue Earl Grey foam, crafted using gardenia fruit and providing a visual representation of the special edition tied to the Blue Dragon year.

The creation of the blue Earl Grey foam involved Starbucks’ extensive research and experimentation with various ingredients over several months, resulting in a unique and visually striking element for the celebratory promotion.
