A Korean Air passenger plane, flight KE766, collided with another aircraft at New Chitose Airport in Sapporo, Japan, on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday around 5:35 p.m. during pushback on the apron, with the tow vehicle slipping on heavy snow, according to Korean Air.
The impact involved KE766 making contact with Cathay Pacific flight CX583, which was stationary. This resulted in damage to the left winglet of the Korean airplane, contacting the right part of the tail wing of the Cathay Pacific aircraft.
The Korean Air plane had 13 crew members, including the captain, and 276 passengers on board. The Hong Kong aircraft had no passengers.
There were no reported injuries.
In response, Korean Air arranged an alternative flight to transport affected passengers from Sapporo, arriving at Incheon Airport at 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
