Singer-songwriter IU will drop her prerelease single “Love wins” on Jan. 24, her agency EDAM Entertainment said Monday.
“Love wins” will be the artist’s first original music in over two years since her last EP, “Pieces,” was released in December 2021.
The agency also released a motion poster on Monday featuring IU’s closeup face dropping tears.
Detailed information about the singer’s new music will be available in the coming days, according to her agency.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, debuted in 2008 and has become one of the most renowned solo artists in Korea. She released hit songs such as “Good Day” (2010), “YOU&I” (2011), “The Red Shoes” (2013), “Through the Night” (2017), “Lilac” (2021) and many more.
She is also well known for her acting career, which she began in 2011 with the KBS drama series “Dream High.” She then starred in various dramas and films, including her latest film, “Dream” (2023).
She recently started the year by donating 210 million won ($159,500) to help underprivileged households get heating for the winter.
