PiS leader Kaczynski holds press conference on National Prosecutor's head dismissal

The leader of the former ruling Law and Justice party has voiced outrage at the recent decision by the Justice Minister who has sacked the head of the National Prosecutor's Office Dariusz Barski and replaced him with an acting national prosecutor. On 12 January, the Justice Ministry led by Adam Bodnar, who also holds the post of prosecutor general, announced that Dariusz Barski is no longer the head of the National Prosecutor's Office. As the 'current regulations do not envisage the post of an acting National Prosecutor, the prime minister cannot appoint anyone to hold such a function', the PiS leader Kaczynski told reporters.
