Trot singer Lim Young-woong, winner of the Golden Disc Awards’ Most Popular Artist title, took the crown for this week’s Favorite Weekly Chart.
Favorite is a K-pop fan voting service codeveloped by Bugs and the JoongAng Ilbo, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.
The weekly chart's rankings are calculated by a combination of fan votes and an artist's number of streams on Bugs.
Lim took victory for the week of Jan. 3 with a score of 51.4 percent, accounting for a total of 16,528 votes and 3.2 percent of Bugs streaming data.
A celebratory video of Lim will play at the Parnas Media Tower from Saturday to next Friday. The Parnas Media Tower is located near COEX Mall in Gangnam District, southern Seoul.
BTS’s Jungkook ranked in second place with a score of 11.8 percent, with 2,743 votes and 3.8 percent of streams, followed by Plave, the winner of last week’s Favorite Weekly Chart, who scored 7.1 percent with 2,272 votes and 0.5 percent of streaming.
