Samsung’s budget-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy A15, is expected to hit the South Korean market as early as February 2024 and with a price range of 200,000 to 300,000 won ($230).

The Galaxy A15, succeeding the globally popular Galaxy A14, is expected to be an appealing choice for consumers looking for a budget-friendly smartphone without compromising on features.

According to the National Radio Research Agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT, Samsung Electronics completed radio certification for the domestic model of the Galaxy A15 (model name SM-A155N) last Wednesday, and the device is set to be launched with LTE (4G) connectivity. While the exact price is yet to be announced, the Galaxy A15 is projected to be a budget model in the 200,000 to 300,000 won range, positioning it as the most affordable model in the Galaxy A series lineup currently available in the South Korean market.

The Galaxy A15 is the latest addition to Samsung’s budget smartphone lineup, following the success of the Galaxy A1X series, known for its popularity particularly in Southeast Asia due to its affordability in the 200,000 to 300,000 won price range.

Global technology market research firm Counterpoint reported that the Galaxy A14 was the fifth best-selling model worldwide in the third quarter of 2023. The Galaxy A15 was already sequentially released in some countries, including Vietnam and India, in December of that year and the LTE model of the Galaxy A15 was unveiled In Vietnam with a price tag of about 268,000 won. The Galaxy A15 boasts a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, a 50-megapixel rear camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 128GB of storage, as well as side-mounted fingerprint recognition.
