CTA, IFA leaders highlight success of MK CES Forum

The MK CES Forum 2024, held at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas on Tuesday (local time), saw a resounding success with over 180 attendees from various industries. The forum organized by Maekyung Media Group, an official media partner for CES for the seventh consecutive year, was congratulated by Melissa Harrison, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), in place of CES President and CEO Gary Shapiro.

Leif Lindner, CEO of Europe’s largest tech expo IFA, also attended, solidifying the forum’s position as South Korea’s premier local CES tech event.

“It’s astonishing to witness the innovation from Korean companies, winning dozens of innovation awards every year in our innovation awards program,” Harrison said.

She went on to individually mention companies such as Samsung, Hyundai Motor, SK, LG, and HD Hyundai.

“Innovative startups are also pioneering new fields like artificial intelligence and smart infrastructure,” she added. “Thank you for inviting us to the MK CES Forum, celebrating the innovation from Korea. The CES exhibition space features over 4,000 exhibitors, including more than 850 Korean companies.”

Lee Jae-jung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, delivered a speech expressing the significance of MK CES Forum as a venue anticipating a revolutionary shift in global innovation, promising support for innovation at the parliamentary level.

“It is meaningful to have the opportunity to observe the waves of the next era,” said North Jeolla Governor Kim Kwan-young, who also addressed the forum, commending Maeil Business Newspaper for creating a platform where industry leaders can contemplate the future of advanced technology with entrepreneurs.

The forum was also graced by the presence of various dignitaries, including Ku Ja-keun, a member of the People Power Party, Kim Han-jung, a member of the Democratic Party, Seoul National University President Ryu Hong-lim, Postech President Kim Seong-keun, Lee Tae-sik, the head of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, and Lim Jong-in, the Presidential Secretary for National Cyber Security.
